Pixel Shifting in Capture Window

Pixel Shifting in Capture Window

Postprzez MrMFretwell » Pn 14. mar 2016, 11:36

Hey friends!

I am using the original Nintendo DS capture in order to stream Nintendo DS/GBA games and have noticed a slight problem when viewing games in the preview window the software comes with, regularly when moving around in-game I notice some pixel shifting (screen tearing) where the whole screen doesn't update properly for a micro-second or two before it corrects itself, and this is reflected when I capture the window in OBS to stream. Is this something that could be fixed or simply a limitation of the software?

I am using Windows so sadly I cannot try the other software (Mac only).

If you have any help/advice, that'd be great.

Many Thanks,

MrMFretwell

Hi MrMFretwell

First I have some questions about the software:

Does this also happen when you just use our software to display what you are doing on you PC without running OBS or recording at all?
Did you try using a different PC? It might be something with performance or a graphiccard issue...
Which version of OBS are you using? There is the old OBS and the newer OBS MultiPlatform, both are still Beta-Versions...

Do you have a Video for me, so I better understand what you mean?

Stefan,

Yes, this happens regardless of whether OBS is running or not, and appears in the Window for the DS Capture software.

I have used both my main machine and also a streaming specific machine, both do have AMD GPU's in common though, perhaps something here?

I am using the old OBS, but considering its happening before it reaches OBS, I don't think its an issue there.

I do have a video available to watch, from around 10 minutes into this Twitch VoD, as I run around the city you can see the pixels shift ever so slightly as I move, this isn't a major issue, I was mainly curious if I was able to tweak it slightly as to fix this. Note, I was able to fix the separate sound issue by buying a 3.5mm to 3.5mm jack cable, an oversight on my end. :P

After watching the Video I'm even more confused, I do not see what you mean. This looks normal for a DS to me.

I would say, that this is what the DS is capable, now you just see it better (as it is zoomed).
There is a huge difference inbetween a DS and 3DS and New 3DS in performance, it has nothing to do with the Capture Card.
