2DS Capture Card?

2DS Capture Card?

Postby Freedomeon » Thu 11. Dec 2014, 01:55

Hello, I can't find anything on the website about 2DS capture cards. I was wondering if I'm missing something or if you don't currently offer that service. If you don't currently offer it, do you have plans to offer it and if so, when?

You already said that in August D: Is there like any concret information about it?
Also what I'd like to know, the current 2DS capture cards are rather expensive. Will the ones you'll be selling be the same price or cheaper?
Because I think there are a lot of people who would consider buying capture cards if they weren't that expensive. Just my 2 cents here.

I can give you another Cent

This estimates are not concrete, they are estimates and you should take it as such!
The situation is like described here:
Tecd0c wrote:I can understand that some of you are waiting impatiently for the release of the 3DS XL Capture Card.
Certainly some are angry or feel misled, since the announcement was already made more than half a year ago, telling it will be finished before a release date of a certain game/s.

I can't just take the side of the developer to protect his behaviour and I guess that you have already noticed this! I'm not too happy myself with the communication or the announcements and dates he made before, this all causes problems in my opinion ...
I think that the customer deserves more accurate information/communication about the progress he is doing (I do not expect an explanation for every step he makes, but brief information/updates would be very helpful)!
Based on that everybody can make a decision if he/she wants to wait for this (for sure very good) product.

Of course the delays have a reason and most of you are able/willing to understand, that this is all related with the development of a quite complicated product.
Everybody should consider that a complete new product is been developed by ONE single person, doing the complete hardware and software alone!

And the most important part is not having the idea to create such a product, that would be obvious since they already exist, but the claim to 'make it as perfect as possible.
And that is certainly not simple, if you dont want to give up anything or refuse to compromise!

The Japanese competitor has already developed a product, but the workmanship and the software are not optimal.
For those interested, there is a Installation of Katsukity XL-Capture Card I have done for a customer and documented here in the forum ...

Back in the summer I received from Neal videos of how the prototypes perform, this showed the XL Capture Card already in function, but it was not yet satisfactory.
It was followed by some changes and troubleshooting and more prototypes he made up, each of these test patterns do cost $ 1,500 each time. Therefore, the evaluation/test is conducted fairly extensively and diligently!
Now the product is final - and now we need sufficient quantities to be produced at a reasonable price.
And this is also not so easy, you can have the production be finished in a very short time, so about 2-3 weeks, but then the price goes up by about $60 -$70 each!

When placing the order with normal priority, then there is no exact delivery times, there are some weeks that it takes - unfortunately!

Tecd0c wrote:It is on you, of course you can get your XL made by Katsukity (Japan). At the moment he is the only available supplier...

And I did not say the Software is "optional" - I said "not optimal"!

For this you should better read some posts in other forums and get yourself an impression about the quality he is giving to you!

About the workmanship, I don't even want to start about it, I can only say that I had two customers having a broken USB Port after one and a half year!
But I got plenty of requests for repairing Katsukitys devices. And there are lots of Katsukitys customers, that are requesting a repair/help from Neal at his (US) forum.
We both do not want to support/repair Katsukitys problems anymore!

And about your second question:

Yes they are different by hardware, as our product does not remove anything.
The placement is at a different position, so everything is still fully functional at our product.

Also the software is different! We don't have any limitation or any kind of stupid protection to it!
You can use it anywhere at anytime, as many times you wish!
We have now software developers for Macintosh and Linux joining us in our community. They are supporting our Hardware natively - you do not have to run any kind of emulation for it...

To write to you ''coming the next time'' does not make me happy - but we all want a real good product - worryfree - doing what you expect for every day use!
And I'm sure this is the reason why people rather get our product...

Talking about prices does not make sense until the product is available or at least shortly before!
You never can satisfy everybody and the price could never be cheap enough...
The question is simple - could you or anybody develop and produce and install it cheaper at the end?
