Capture stops working - USB problem?

The 3ds capture window suddenly goes blank and the audio stops playing on my computer, it works fine again after taking the USB out of the computer or the 3DS and putting it back on but it only lasts for about a minute and a half which makes it impossible to record. It was working perfectly yesterday. Given that it's fine again after unplugging my guess is its the USB?

What happens if you just turn it on and record while you let it stay untouched for a while, does it have the same behaviour?

I tested that and yeah it still stops capturing. There's no bleeping you normally hear when a usb disconnects the capturing just ends until it's unplugged and plugged back in.

It sounds like it is not a problem of the Capture Card, please test it on a different Computer.

Ok I'll try and get access to a friend's computer and report back tomorrow

Couldn't get access to another computer but it's working perfectly fine today on mine, very strange why it wasn't yesterday but all's well that ends well it seems.
