[Howto] Either no audio or no video

I've followed all the instructions but I'm still not getting a proper recording. Steromix is available in the 3ds capture area and is set as the default playback device, it's enabled and set to be listened to but a recording via 3ds capture still doesnt produce any sounds. Recording via OBS results in no video but I can hear the sound. All drivers are up to date so I'm not 100% sure what I'm doing wrong. I mean if all else fails I have the means to record both audio and video but I'd much prefer them to be one file since syncing isn't fun.

In 99% cases people do miss one thing from the insructions.

Also with OBS you have two forks of development. Try both
