Raspberry Pi/Linux Setup

Postby willow » Thu 20. Feb 2020, 04:59

I just got my New 3DS XL capture card put in, and I cannot manage to get the Raspberry Pi viewer software to work.

I'm using a Raspberry Pi 4, and have tried both the latest version of Raspbian and the version referenced inside the readme. Do you have any tips on getting this up and running?

In addition, is it possible for me to get the source code to the Raspberry Pi viewer software so that I may compile it myself for non-ARM processors?

Alright, then I'll try to get the closed source version up and running. I'm receiving the following error when running the executable as root:

Code: Select all
rpi board revision= 0xC03111 (pi 3) : cpu serial= 0x222A65BD
display resolution= 0 x 0
[new 3line Differential Signal viewer for raspbian] ver 1.01
keybord device= /dev/input/event0
[ez-usb fx2 no_eeprom device] founds.
resetting device
[USB packet size= 1024
device_id = REDACTED
rpi_new3ds_view.bin: draw.c:718: init_ogl: Assertion `g_egl_surface != ((EGLSurface)0)`' failed.

Do you have any suggestions on debugging and resolving this error?

I switched out the pi 4 for a 3b+. The command doesn't crash any more, but nothing actually displays on the screen. It definitely gets the capture USB device - when I unplug the 3ds it throws a ton of errors - but no window appears. Here is what I see on my screen:

I've reimaged the Pi 3b+ several times now with the minimum version of Raspbian that will run on it, and still no luck. What steps do you take to get your Raspberry Pi 3b+ working?
